The liver is a vital organ necessary for survival, it has a wide range of functions, a few of which are detoxification, metabolism, glycogen storage, decomposition of red blood cells, plasma protein synthesis, hormone production, storage and formation of nutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin E, iron and copper.

The liver produces bile which is stored in the gallbladder. Eating fats triggers the gallbladder to release this bile, which then digests the fat and flushes cholesterol and other toxins out of the body.

If the bile does not flow freely into the intestinal tract, it goes directly into the blood stream and circulates throughout the system causing a toxic condition known as cholemia, producing symptoms such as indigestion, sluggishness, fever, fatigue, constipation, upset stomach, chills, and vomiting.
